What's Victoria's Secret?

Has anyone given much thought about what Victoria's Secret really is? Clearly, this is in reference to the famous and top women lingerie giant Victoria's Secret. But for the life of me, I'm still a bit clueless what the brand name means or who Victoria is. For sure, the lingerie is not named after its founder. Some information point the source of the name itself to England's 19th century monarch, Queen Victoria.

According to Wiki Victoria's Secret is an American brand of women's apparel specializing on lingerie and beauty products. What started as an embarassing experience for a young man in in trying to get his wife some lingerie started a billion dollar business. Many are familiar with the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion show as well as the innocuous cologne that can be found in almost every lady's section in department stores worldwide.

Almost everyone who watches fashion is quite familiar with the brand's 'angels', the fashion runway goddesses privileged to romp the latest VS creations during the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. This annual event becomes a launch pad for anyone who wants to make it big in the fashion industry.

The supermodels who grace the yearly Victoria's Secret fashion show are called "Angels". Perhaps that would give a clue to the mystery. Adriana Lima, Giselle Bundchen, Miranda Kerr, Channel Iman and Heidi Klum, (who recently resigned as VS angel), are the more famous of these angels. Truly these women are are not only gorgeous but exude confidence making them the perfect embodiment of the brand apparel's vision.

Many more are definitely interested in the recent 2-hour extravaganza featuring the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2010 on CBS. One can't help but stare in awe of these gorgeous creatures and wonder if they do exist. These 'angels' are not only extraordinary-looking and larger than life that mere mortals can only aspire and dream of emulating. Perhaps, Perhaps, that's part of the allure and mystery of Victoria's Secret.

Since it's the time of the year when most are pre-occupied with thoughts of gift-giving, why not share the secret? Victoria's Secret that is.
