Top 5 Reasons Why Workouts Fail
71Top 5 Reasons for Exercise Fail
Burn out, boredom, and so many others reasons, but there are other reasons why workouts fail before you even see a weight loss, fat loss, or abs muscles in case these are some of your goals. Learn to avoid or even work your way out of these traps and you are well on your way to pinning your fitness target in time.
1. Lack of determination and commitment.
Many who started on a workout program whether it be at home or on the gym are just excited the first few weeks and then, slowly the interest wanes due to a lot of factors such as lack of time, opportunity and other self-made excuses.
Determination to get to your desired body and weight takes determination to get there and more importantly the commitment to stick with it no matter the setbacks. These two work hand in hand. Indeed, it is hard to sustain the same intensity and interest to your workouts, but if one starts with a strong commitment to never stop until the goal is achieved this will be a big push for one to prod on results are seen.
2. Lack of a specific goal.
If you are bent on having a workout with success you can expect to see soon, defining a clear and specific goal is a must. A simple and good fitness goal is to lose your fat in the belly and midsection. Spot loss reduction may not work for many but it does for some people. Of course overall weight loss would result if your are doing the workouts regularly but zooming in your attention on a particular body area will make a good start as your specific goal.
Another is to go down to a specific weight, there is nothing wrong for gunning for a specific number but make sure it is something achievable factoring your age, height, and health condition. If you are 5'8" and your goal is to reduce your weight from 150 lbs to 90lbs, now that would be very unrealistic. Try a more realistic goal that you know you can achieve after following the workouts religiously.
3. Eating more with a belief it will be burned anyway.
Workout fail! The reason why you workout in the first place is to reduce body fat. However, people have this notion that since they are already starting a workout program, they can have the leeway to eat more since they are burning anyway, wrong! When one eats more, what happens is one will not lose any, or worst, even gain more body weight. In short you are not getting anywhere. Many fall into this trap, they workout at the gym, feel good about sweating, then pig out later.
The right mind set is to convince yourself that eating more must be offset by exercising twice as hard in order to burn what was consumed and more. To achieve significant results, lessen your regular amount of food intake while doing your regular workouts.
4. Doing the wrong exercises.
Choosing the right exercise can be tricky but it can be done with a little consultation from a fitness expert, your friend trainer, and even through online research. You must do the proper exercises appropriate to getting you to your goal. Doing cardio and aerobic exercises will help you burn calories but if you want to turn your body into a 24-hour calorie burning machine, then strength-training would be more appropriate.
If the goal is to have nice abs but you hate sit-ups or working out with weights, then try a good cardio activity like running and even jogging and then pair it up with daily Hip hop abs by Shaun T. Now if you are really crazy about toning your butt and thigh area, incorporate an intense butt and thigh toning exercises plus cardio. More importantly, before starting any exercise program, make sure you get the necessary doctor approval, just to be safe.
5. Giving up too soon.
If one wants to lose 10 pounds of flab or more, or want to reduce belly fat from your midsection, give yourself ample time to reach this goal. You can’t lose in a month what you have piled on for couple of years. Be logical and give yourself 2 months or more before you expect any drastic result. The success of your fitness endeavor will not be measured by how much you lose those extra fat but by how long you maintain the new and ideal weight. So take your time, never be too harsh on yourself and don’t give up too soon.
